Prof Falola urges universities in Nigeria to strengthen Africa's democracy
Former President of African Studies Association, Prof Toyin Falola has urged Nigerian Universities to nurture and be intellectually involved in strengthening the continent's democratization.
Speaking during a lecture he delivered at Karl Kumm University Vom, Prof Falola stated that such lucrative ideology should be able to embrace the concerns and needs of our societies and community as a way forward for greater prospects.
He also advocated gender equality and societal development and integration.
The global scholar advised students in the country to not allow elitist structures of failure deter them from achieving their set objectives in life.
Prof Falola thanked the Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University for nurturing students of global knowledge who will not only add value to the nation but the world at large .
Earlier in his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University Vom, Nigeria Prof Nanven Audu Gambo appreciated the intellectual wealth of the Scholar who has continued to positively impact the globe with his developmental ideology.
He stressed that Karl Kumm University will continue to partner with such intellectuals for the benefit of the institution and the country.
In their contribution , Prof Sati fwatshak of the University of Jos and Prof Egodu Uchendu from University of Nigeria , Nsukka noted that Karl Kumm University is a baby institution that needs all the support considering its prospects towards impacting the youth for generational change.
They advised the students to study hard as the world ahead of them is full of challenges which only those who work hard will overcome.
In her vote of thanks, the University Librarian, Dr Lydia Lakan thanked the esteemed Guest Speaker, Professor Toyin Falola for sharing his knowledge and insight.
